Youth pastoral in Czech and Moravian dioceses. Pastoral theological analysis of the work of diocesan youth life centres.

The dissertation is thematically focused on the pastoral care of youth in the Czech and Moravian dioceses. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to the reflection on youth pastoral care in the Czech Republic by means of a deeper probe into the concept and practice of diocesan youth life centres. The theological basis for the elaboration of this topic are the binding documents of the German Bishops' Conference (DBK), the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI) and the Latin American Bishops' Conference (CELAM), which open the way to the post-conciliar concept of youth pastoral, formulated by prominent pastoral theologians such as Martin Lechner or Riccardo Tonelli. The principles of Czech youth pastoral are then compared with the above-mentioned foreign documents. In addition, selected results of research investigations carried out in the environment of active Catholic youth are presented. The result is a critical analysis of the project of diocesan youth life centres and a proposal for their new concept.

Religious Education of Youth in the Church of Brethrens

This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of religious education of youth in the Church of Brethren. Its main aim is to describe the process of religious education of youth according to the theoretical and practical sources of the Church of Brethren. The results were compared in the last part of the thesis to the educational concepts of other churches studied in the theoretical part. The theoretical part defines the terms related to religious education such as catechesis, pastoral care, evangelization, discipleship, religious pedagogy etc. It also includes the characteristics of the Church of Brethren and youth in the context of postmodern era. The last chapter deals with religious education of youth in church in general with regards to the personality of a youth pastor, educational goals and teaching methods. The practical part is designed as an analysis of three areas: Department of Youth of the Church of Brethren, other Christian organizations working with youth and an interview with the Leading pastor of the Council of the Church of Brethren who has been working with youth for many years. The results of each area are further reflected in the context of the studied literature. Diocesan centres of lives of youth seen by their employees and volunteers.

This work focuses on youth ministry, which implements youth leaders working in selected diocesan centers of youth life (DCŽM). The author defines the basic terms and on the basis of church documents and literature sets pastoral theological and pedagogical principles and criteria youth ministry after the 2nd Vatican Council. These criteria apply and compares with educational and pastoral objectives youth leaders who operate in selected DCŽM. The aim of the employees of each DCŽM is to pass the values of Lived Gospel to match the current changing desires and needs of youth.
